What can we do for our students?

These days, I usually think about what we can do for the students who don't like English. Actually, when I was a junior high school student, I also didn't like English and I thought I wouldn't use English in the future. So in the junior high school, I didn't take some examinations, for example EIKEN, which is special English examination in Japan. My tutor in junior high school asked what I had to do to improve my English skill to my English teacher, because maybe she thought I didn't like English because of its difficulty. And the English teacher told me about RADIO-EIKAIWA in NHK. It's English radio program and we can listen to the conversation with textbook, which we have to buy in bookstore. The same conversation is on air twice per day and we can listen to all contents for a month. And there are some conversations, so we can choose suitable one for us. This is one of textbooks.

It has many interesting conversations and we can use these in daily lives. And it also has many pictures and puzzle games. When I saw this textbook and listened to the radio, I thought I would give up studying English every day because that contents wasn't used in our term examinations. But thanks to my mother, the English teacher and my tutor, I could continue to listen to this radio, and enjoyed studying English so much! So everything did done very well. And now, I continue to study English and want to be an English teacher.

But, this is just my successful story. So maybe my future's students also think of the purpose of studying English. What will they think about English? What can I do for them? Now, I can't imagine it....
